Displaying is never neutral.
Design choices shape interpretation,
reveals patterns and hide others.

When we select colours, scales or chart types, we do not just present information, we guide the viewer’s attention.
A visualisation creates a perspective, not a mirror of reality.
This means that every display is a curated version of the data,
framed through intention, context and interpretation.
Displaying teaches us that data does not speak for itself.
Someone decides how it should appear,
what should be emphasised,
and what should fade into the background.
Displaying is to "frame" data
