Classifying as Structuring Bias

Classifying is the step where our collected objects are placed into categories and where non-neutrality becomes more visible. The moment we decide how to group things, we also decide what they mean in the context of the dataset.
In this project, classifying forced us to confront how our earlier academic training, especially in economics, taught us to rely on rigid, predefined categories. Through this course, we learned that categories are constructed, not given. Changing the category changes the story.
